Si conclude il progetto europeo CEFoodCycle: tre anni di lavoro per ridurre lo spreco alimentare e promuovere l’economia circolare
Asti, 31 ottobre 2025 – Con la fine del mese di ottobre si conclude il progetto europeo CEFoodCycle, iniziativa finanziata dal Programma Interreg Alpine Space, che negli ultimi tre anni ha coinvolto partner pubblici e privati nel comune obiettivo di mappare i flussi alimentari e individuare il potenziale locale per chiudere i cicli del cibo e promuovere una gestione più sostenibile delle risorse alimentari.
Durante il Networking Event online del 30 ottobre 2025, gli stakeholder piemontesi hanno condiviso risultati, esperienze e prospettive future, facendo il punto sul percorso realizzato e garantendo la continuità delle azioni avviate.
Risultati e innovazioni
Nel corso del progetto sono stati mappati diversi flussi alimentari nel territorio alpino e sviluppati strumenti per migliorare la cooperazione tra imprese, enti locali e cittadini.
Uno dei principali risultati è il tool digitale foodcycle.ai – una piattaforma innovativa che consente di visualizzare, analizzare e ottimizzare i flussi alimentari locali, aiutando comunità e aziende a ridurre gli sprechi e a favorire pratiche di economia circolare.
CEFoodCycle ha dimostrato che la collaborazione tra territori, istituzioni e cittadini può tradursi in soluzioni concrete per un sistema alimentare più sostenibile, ma il percorso non si ferma qui: gli strumenti e le reti create continueranno a generare impatto positivo anche dopo la chiusura ufficiale del progetto.

CEFoodCycle: Three years of action to cut Food Waste and promote Circular Economy comes to an end
Asti, 31 October 2025 – At the end of October, the European project CEFoodCycle comes to a close. Funded by the Interreg Alpine Space Programme, the project has, over the past three years, brought together public and private partners with the shared goal of mapping food flows and identifying local potential to close food loops and promote a more sustainable management of food resources.
During the online Networking Event on 30 October 2025, stakeholders from the Piedmont region shared results, experiences, and future perspectives, taking stock of the progress made and ensuring the continuity of the actions undertaken.
Results and innovations
Throughout the project, several food flow networks across the Alpine region were mapped, and tools were developed to strengthen cooperation among businesses, local authorities and citizens.
One of the main achievements is the digital tool foodcycle.ai — an innovative platform that enables users to visualise, analyse and optimise local food flows, supporting communities and companies in reducing waste and implementing circular economy practices.
CEFoodCycle has demonstrated that collaboration between territories, institutions and citizens can lead to concrete solutions for a more sustainable food system.
However, the journey does not end here: the tools and networks created will continue to generate a positive impact even after the official closure of the project.
